“Europe’s voice should also be represented in potential peace talks.”
Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez said that Russia is not interested in peace talks and wants to continue the war, El Diario reports.
“Unfortunately, at the moment, peace is not in sight because one of the two sides, Russia, does not want peace. Who is talking about peace? Who presented peace plans? It has always been the Ukrainian side, President Zelensky,” Albarez emphasized.
According to him, Europeans will support any plan for a just peace.
“However, when I hear the Russian president’s speeches, he always talks about war, about not giving up war, about winning the war. But, in any case, when peace is achieved, Spain and the Europeans understand very clearly on what terms it should be achieved: we cannot decide anything about Ukraine, which is a sovereign state with a democratically elected president, without them setting the parameters,” he added.
