Two security managers at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have been placed on administrative leave after they refused to provide access to the agency's systems to representatives of the Department of Government Efficiency, headed by billionaire Elon Musk.

Employees of the Musk Department physically attempted to gain access to USAID headquarters in the capital, Washington, and were stopped.

According to two sources, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) officers demanded to be let in and threatened to call in U.S. Marshals Service officers to gain access inside.

The sources added that DOGE representatives wanted access to security systems and personal files. They also wanted access to classified information.
