There are a lot of positive reviews about this bread, so we decided to check if this is true. We warn you right away that you should not expect high bread, only if you prepare bread in a loaf pan. Corn flour, like rye, does not give a high rise. But all the same, the bread will turn out to be interesting to the taste and good.

Ingredients:

  • 150 ml of milk,
  • 150 ml of water,
  • 1 tsp salt,
  • 1 tbsp. sugar or 1 tsp. honey,
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil,
  • ¼ tsp. turmeric,
  • 250 g of wheat flour,
  • 200 g of corn flour,
  • 15 g of "live" yeast.

Recipe:

1. Pour fresh yeast into a small bowl, add sugar and warm milk, mix. Leave the bowl with the foam in a warm place until the yeast dissolves and rises with a "cap".

2. In the container in which we will knead the dough, pour warm water, add salt and vegetable oil, pour off the steam that has risen, sift wheat and corn flour with the addition of turmeric (turmeric can be added if desired). We knead the dough. When the dough does not stick to the walls of the dish, stop kneading. Cover the container with the dough with a lid or film and put it in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour.

3. Put the finished dough on the table and form a round patty, which we transfer to a sheet covered with parchment or a silicone mat. You can give the bread any shape or simply put the dough in a round or rectangular baking dish. Lightly dust the dough with flour and make cuts with a sharp knife. Cover the bread preparation with a film and put it in a warm place to stand for another 20-30 minutes.

4. After proofing, transfer the dough sheet to an oven heated to 180 °C. Bake the bread for 30-40 minutes. The baking time depends on the shape of your bread, so keep an eye on it and check the readiness with a wooden skewer.

5. Remove the browned bread from the oven, cover with a towel and leave to rest for 10-15 minutes.
