Britain to announce largest package of sanctions against Russia
Lemmy stressed that this was a "critical moment" for Ukraine, the UK and all of Europe, calling for increased support for Ukraine.
The United Kingdom will announce a package of sanctions against Russia on February 24, aimed at strengthening support for Kyiv in the fight against Russian aggression, DW reports.
According to British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy, this package of sanctions against Russia will be the largest since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Lemmy stressed that this was a “critical moment” for Ukraine, the UK and all of Europe, calling for increased support for Ukraine and for continued work with American and European partners to achieve a just peace. He stressed that “without Ukraine, nothing can happen in Ukraine.”
"Now is the time to tighten the screws on Russia," said the British Foreign Secretary.
As you know, the United Kingdom has already imposed sanctions against 1900 individuals and organizations associated with the Russian government since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Lemmy also confirmed the decision to provide Kyiv with £3 billion annually, and also expressed his willingness to send British troops as part of a peacekeeping force if necessary.
