Gastroenterologist: dishes that are often prepared for breakfast are too "heavy" and harmful to the heart.
The doctor stated that for breakfast, families may eat dishes that are not suitable for people with cardiovascular diseases.
"Many traditional breakfast dishes, such as scrambled eggs with bacon or pancakes, are not recommended for people with high blood pressure," the doctor said.
According to the doctor, the named breakfast options contain a high concentration of "bad" cholesterol, which worsens the condition of blood vessels and increases the risk of cardiovascular disorders. Meanwhile, people who already have problems with the heart and blood vessels should carefully monitor the quality of their diet and adhere to certain restrictions.
"To maintain vascular health and reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke, it is recommended to eat as little salt as possible, as well as to reduce the consumption of animal fats, industrial desserts and sweet drinks," the expert shared.
The doctor added that vegetables, whole grain cereals, fish, and poultry should be included in the nutrition of the cores. Speaking about foods that are especially useful for strengthening the heart, the doctor recommended using leafy greens, apples, nuts (preferably walnuts), fatty fish, fermented milk products, and berries.
What can be included in breakfast for hypertension and heart disease:
- a portion of greens, including leafy salads;
- nuts and seeds;
- not too salty red fish;
- whole grain bread;
- natural yogurt without sugar;
