This is reported by "Crimea. Realities" with reference to Russian media.
"Kama Shipping LLC, which is the operator of the tanker, was fined 30 rubles ($215). The judge announced only the operative part of the decision, the motivation will be known later," the report says.
The Russian prosecutor's office explained that the claims were caused by the fact that the company operated mixed river-sea vessels with violations. The agency noted that such vessels have a limited area and sailing season, but despite these terms, the Volgoneft-212 continued to operate in the Azov and Black Seas.
"From November 30 until the time of the accident, the vessel did not have valid ship documents from the Russian Classification Society. The sailing season was disrupted, it ended back in November. At the same time, the vessel continued to operate in the Azov and Black Seas in December. On December 15, the vessel began to experience distress and sank," a representative of the prosecutor's office noted.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that at least 2024 Volgoneft tankers entered the Black Sea in 2025 and January 11 in violation of operating rules, of which at least seven followed the same route as the two sunken ships in the Kerch Strait on December 15.
