Not all vegetables are equally useful for our figure!
"You want to lose weight - switch to vegetables!", "Vegetables will not make you healthy!" - everyone who has been on a diet at least once has heard it. But how true are these words? Unfortunately, not all vegetables are equally useful and among them there are real saboteurs, which you should know face to face! So, here is a list of "harmless" vegetables, which can actually be very dangerous for our figure.
Carrot
A blow to the very heart: so bright, so tasty, so useful... and so sweet! It is the high content of sucrose that makes carrots dangerous for our figure, especially if we eat them in unlimited quantities. Therefore, one, well, at most, two things a day - and no more!
Cucumber
No, no, they don't make us fat by themselves. Moreover, in the summer they are practically necessary for our health, as they contain a lot of water and help maintain the balance of moisture in the body and resist dehydration. But there is too little fiber in cucumbers, and therefore they are digested too quickly and we want to urgently chew something else. And then more, and more, and more... treacherous cucumbers!
Beet
A very useful and tasty root vegetable, but, unfortunately, it contains a lot of sugar, starch and carbohydrates. Beets should be eaten with caution, first of all, by those with high blood sugar levels - this vegetable can lead to glucose spikes. But even if everything is fine and you are not at risk of glucose resistance, do not get too excited: there are studies that confirm that the consumption of beets stimulates the body to store fat, not to use it.
Fried vegetables
An indispensable ingredient of any fried dish is oil, a lot of oil. And vegetables, including grilled vegetables, are no exception. You think you're eating healthy eggplant, tomatoes, and zucchini, but you're actually getting lots and lots of fatty oil. This is certainly not a bad thing: vegetable oils are good for our health, but what will your favorite jeans say?
Peas
Fresh green peas in pods - what could be tastier? And what can be more caloric? Peas are good for our health because they contain a lot of healthy fiber, but they are also rich in starch and other nutrients that help to store fat around our waists. So watch the portion size (but in no case do not give it up completely!).
Corn
If you have problems with sugar levels or if you are serious about losing weight, unfortunately, you will have to give up corn completely. This vegetable has too much sugar, which can cause glucose spikes and disrupt healthy insulin levels in the body. We are very sorry.
