The Korean automaker has introduced a special edition of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N electric crossover for drifting. The limited edition was created in collaboration with the “king of drifting” Keiichi Tsutiya. The car features a modified chassis. Such an Ioniq 5 N is better controlled – in fact, this was the main idea, although its power plant is standard.

The hatchback is equipped with a two-motor system with a capacity of 609 horsepower with the possibility of a short-term increase to 650 horsepower. The battery capacity is 84 kWh. The peculiarity of the electric car is a set of electronic assistants that simulate the operation of the gearbox and clutch, as well as broadcast the sound of the internal combustion engine into the cabin and outside.

With the help of Keiichi Tsutiya, Hyundai developed a set of components that improve the car's behavior on the track. It includes, for example, forged 21-inch wheels. They are 10,6 kilograms lighter than the standard set, plus they have special notches that prevent the tire from slipping under high longitudinal and transverse loads.

The standard brakes in the Ioniq 5 N DK have been replaced with reinforced ones with six-piston calipers and a 54% larger working surface of the pads. The suspension uses shortened H&R springs (-15 mm). New aerodynamic components are made of carbon fiber, including a front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser.

Sales of the Ioniq 5 N by Keiichi Tsutiya will begin this year, but so far the electric car has only been announced for Japan and South Korea. Prices and details will be revealed later.
