The new Skoda Superb has become a plug-in hybrid. Initially, this version was only available on the Superb Combi station wagon, but now the PHEV system has been added to the liftback model.
Its powertrain will include the usual set of a 1.5 TSI 150 hp petrol “turbo four”, a 117 hp traction electric motor integrated into the DSG “robot”, and a 25,7 kWh battery. The combined power of the new Skoda system will be 204 horsepower, peak torque – 330 Nm.

The electric motor in this scheme can either assist the internal combustion engine or operate independently of it, allowing for electric driving of more than 120 kilometers. The hybrid battery supports DC charging with a capacity of up to 50 kilowatts. In this case, it takes 10 minutes to charge from 80 to 26%, but from a wall outlet or AC column, a full charge will take two and a half hours.

The operating mode of the power plant depends on the selected mode. In addition to the usual Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport and Individual, the Superb Hatch iV has special presets E-mode, Hybrid mode and Sport mode. Orders for the Superb Hatch iV will begin to be accepted in the coming weeks. Production is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2025.
