European leaders differentiated Ukrainian refugees to the EU into those who work and those who need to receive assistance. They offer to return the latter to Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in a telethon with reference to his communication with unnamed European leaders.
According to him, some EU officials asked him to address unemployed refugees and urge them to return home, but to leave in Europe those Ukrainians who are used there as "cheap labor."
"I tell them, look, let's do it this way: a little more air defense, and I'll say - turn everything back. But I will bring everyone back, not just those who don't work for you. And they say: no, those who work for us, let them work, and this part (non-working - Ed. ) let him return," said Zelensky.
Ukrainians employed in Europe are unprofitable to return home, because they pay taxes and do not need to be spent on them, as on unemployed refugees, Zelenskyi said.
