In early February, Ukrainian motorists can count on stable fuel prices. According to analysts, significant fluctuations in the cost of gasoline, diesel, and liquefied gas at gas stations are not expected in the near future.
Average prices remain at the same level: A-95 gasoline – 57,50 UAH/l, diesel fuel – 54,47 UAH/l, liquefied gas – 36,74 UAH/l.
Experts attribute the current stability to a number of economic and political factors:
- Oil price fluctuations. Sanctions against the Russian oil market caused a short-term increase in the price of oil, but thanks to the efforts of a number of countries, the price is gradually decreasing from $81 to $78 per barrel.
- Stabilization of the hryvnia exchange rate. Financial indicators on the foreign exchange market remain stable, which contributes to maintaining current prices.
- Fuel surplus. Supply on the market exceeds demand, which eliminates sharp price jumps.
The increase in excise taxes, which came into effect on January 1, has already been reflected in prices at gas stations. This led to some fuel price increases at the beginning of the year, but no further changes are expected in this area.
The situation on world markets may also be affected by the policies of the new US administration. Experts recall that earlier plans were announced to reduce the price of oil to $60 per barrel. If these initiatives begin to be implemented, this may affect the fuel market in Ukraine.
According to experts, there are no prerequisites for a significant increase in fuel prices in February. Political or economic changes may make adjustments, but at the moment the market is showing stability. Analysts expect that Ukrainians will meet February with the same price level as at the beginning of the year.
February promises to be a month without drastic changes at gas stations. However, motorists should monitor global and domestic factors in order to react to possible changes in a timely manner.
