Petunias are beautiful and unpretentious flowers that many gardeners like.
If this year you planted a variety that you really liked and you want to keep it next year, then you will need our recommendations.
It should be taken into account that such a life hack does not apply to terry petunia - it does not form seeds.
When to collect petunia seeds
The most optimal time is the beginning of autumn. When the flower fades and dries, remove the petals and you will see that small green boxes will remain under them.
Wait 1-3 days and carefully cut them with scissors, if possible, pinch them off.
Do not let the pods dry completely, otherwise you may miss the best time to collect the seeds.
Put the cut boxes in paper bags or envelopes and leave them to ripen in a dark, dry place.
After some time, the pods will dry out and crack, seeds will fall out of them. The dry shells of the boxes will not be needed, throw them away.
