Hydrangeas in pots grow no worse than those in the ground. The problem begins when organizing storage in the winter. It is necessary to organize conditions in which the plant will feel comfortable. Read more in the article on how to do this.
Winter storage of hydrangeas
You need to wait until the plant sheds its leaves. This can be done by frost. Therefore, all you have to do is remove the fallen leaves. Sanitary pruning and treatment against pests and diseases should also be done by this time. Be careful when choosing drugs. They work under different temperature conditions.
The flowerpot should be moved to a cold room or cellar. It is not recommended that the temperature be higher than +5 degrees. It is even good to be close to zero.
If you don't have a garage, cellar, or other space where you can provide winter shelter for your hydrangeas, you can bury them in the ground and cover them with spunbond. This way, they will overwinter, and in the spring you can restore their appearance.
