It is difficult to remove horseradish from the garden even with the help of chemicals. Its rhizome grows in both length and width. When the upper part is destroyed, the roots continue to grow and occupy more and more territory. Horseradish root can grow very deep, so it is almost impossible to find out at what depth it is.
Horseradish can be removed mechanically, with herbicides and displaced by other crops. Experienced summer residents advise using all methods at once. It can be dug up and picked, but if even one root remains in the ground, a bush will grow from it.
All the roots selected from the ground must be taken outside the territory of the site. It is advised to sprinkle salt and ammonium nitrate on the place where the leaves are cut, so the plant will begin to dry out and die completely.
