Ingredients:
- 550 g of herring fillet
- 100 g of water
- 2 large onions
- 50 g of apple cider vinegar
- 50 g of unrefined oil
- 1,5-2 tsp. salt to taste
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 bay leaf
- 6 pcs. black pepper peas
- 1 pc. allspice
Preparation:
Wash the fish, make an incision on the abdomen, remove the entrails, rinse again under running water. Make an incision along the spine and remove the skin. Divide the fish into 2 parts, separate the bone. Cut the fillet into equal pieces. Cut the onion into half rings.
Mix water with salt and spices and bring to a boil. Cool the marinade and mix with apple cider vinegar and oil. Place the herring in layers in a glass vessel. A layer of fish, a layer of onions. Pour the marinade, close the lid and put it in the refrigerator for 1 day. After that, you can enjoy herring. Bon appetit!
