
Red cabbage – also known as cabbage with beets – is a great alternative to boring cucumbers and tomatoes for the winter.
In terms of its beneficial properties, it is in no way inferior to its competitor, sauerkraut. The main thing in this matter is a good recipe.
For cooking you need:
- cabbage - 1 head;
- fresh carrots – 2 pcs.;
- fresh beets – 2 pcs.;
- garlic - 1 head;
- red pepper (ground) – 1 tsp;
- salt - 2 tbsp. L.;
- sugar - 1 tbsp. L.;
- 1/2 cup of vinegar;
- 1/2 bottle of olive oil;
- 1 liter of water;
- black peppercorns – to taste.
How to cook
Shred the cabbage, and grate the beets and carrots, which is better for cooking vegetables Korean-style.
Garlic can be minced, but it is better to cut into thin slices. Mix all the ingredients and arrange in jars. Dissolve salt, sugar in water and bring to a boil. Now add oil, vinegar, boil for 1-2 minutes and pour the marinade over the vegetables, then roll up the jars.
It is better to store the workpiece in a dark and cool place.
