Maneuvering in tight spaces is difficult for inexperienced drivers, so it's no wonder that many drivers consider entering a garage or parking lot in such conditions to be aerobatics. However, there are a few tips that will make your task easier.

We're going to the garage: where to start learning
You need to start by understanding whether you want to drive into a garage (or a city parking lot) from the front or the back. Let's just say that in terms of complexity, there is no fundamental difference, but there are some differences of a different order.
Back to the garage
— When the car is driving backwards, it is more maneuverable. That is, in a narrow driveway, you will be able to drive into the garage backwards in one go, and forwards in two or three. However, accordingly, you will have to drive out in the opposite order – and with the appropriate nuances;
— In any situation, it is when reversing that it is easier for the driver to monitor the distance from the sides of the car to obstacles – using the side mirrors. Choose what is more difficult for you in terms of dimensions – entering a garage or leaving – and use reverse gear for this maneuver;
— If the car is parked in the garage with the hood facing the gate, it will be more convenient for you to work under the hood, and the trunk will be deep and possibly in the dark;
— From a garage (or parking space) that opens directly onto the road through a gate, it would be better to drive out in front: it may not work out in one go, but you will have a better view of the roadway and the vehicles moving along it – which means it is safer.
In the garage in front
— If you look inside the garage when you pull into it, you will be less likely to hit something in it – after all, the garage is often a haven not only for the car, but also for various bulky household items. When parking in a narrow pocket in the open air, this consideration is irrelevant;
— When the car is parked in the garage with the stern facing the gate, it will be more convenient for you to put something in or take something out of the trunk. In the case of an open parking lot near a supermarket, this is also a more desirable option – you will be able to transfer purchases to the trunk directly from the supermarket trolley.
