The pro-Iranian Yemeni Houthis released the crew of the Galaxy Leader vessel, which they captured in November 2023.
This was reported by Reuters with reference to Yemeni media, Ukrinform reports.
The Houthis said the crew was released "in coordination" with Oman and handed over to Omani authorities. They added that the release of the sailors took place because Israel and Hamas had agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza.
The ship's crew consists of 25 citizens of Bulgaria, Ukraine, the Philippines, Mexico and Romania.
Since November 2023, after the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, the Houthis have carried out more than 100 attacks on ships in the Red Sea, claiming to be acting in solidarity with the Palestinians. They have sunk two vessels, captured one and killed at least four sailors.
