One of Volkswagen's most beautiful cars, the Arteon Shooting Brake, has officially been discontinued. This stylish wagon, which was never sold in America, ended its history at the factory in Osnabrück, Germany.

For eight years of production, the sedan Arteon and its universal version Shooting Brake found about 190 buyers. However, despite its appeal, the Arteon failed to achieve the commercial success the company had hoped for.

Reasons for stopping production

There are several reasons:

  1. Low demand: The Arteon was unable to compete with more popular models in its class, such as the Passat and Arteon Shooting Brake.
  2. Volkswagen's strategy change: the company focuses on the development of electric cars and crossovers.
  3. The emergence of an electrical analogue: The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer has become an electric alternative to the Arteon Shooting Brake.

The plant in Osnabrück, where the Arteon Shooting Brake was produced, will continue to produce the T-Roc convertible until mid-2027. The further fate of the plant is still unknown.

In addition to the Arteon Shooting Brake, Volkswagen also recently discontinued its legendary VR6 engine after 34 years of production.

Arteon Shooting Brake will go down in history as one of the most beautiful and stylish Volkswagen wagons. Although its production has been discontinued, it will continue to please its owners with its practicality and elegance.
