- Fresh mackerel – 2 pcs.;
- Lemon - 1 pc.;
- Garlic – 2 cloves;
- Fresh dill – 1 bunch;
- Salt - to taste;
- Ground black pepper - to taste.
Method of cooking:
Gut and gill the mackerel. Rinse the fish well under running water and pat dry with paper towels.
Cut the lemon into slices. Chop the garlic with a knife or pass it through a press. Finely chop the dill.
Season the mackerel inside and out with salt and pepper. Place a few slices of lemon, a little garlic, and dill inside each fish.
Pour 1-1,5 liters of water into the multicooker bowl. Place the steaming rack in place.

Place the mackerel on the rack and close the lid of the multicooker. Turn on the “Steam” or “Steaming” mode for 30 minutes.
Serve the finished mackerel hot, garnished with fresh herbs and lemon. Boiled rice or steamed vegetables will be a great side dish.
Cooking secrets and tips:
To give the fish a richer flavor, add a bay leaf, a few allspice peas, or a sprig of dill to the cooking water.
As a filling, you can use slices of orange or lime instead of lemon, and also add a little grated ginger for spiciness.
Before cooking, you can leave the mackerel in a marinade of lemon juice, olive oil, and spices for 20 minutes. This will make the fish meat even more tender.
Try serving fish with a homemade yogurt or honey mustard sauce. This will add sophistication to the dish.
