In 2025, the UK will allocate 4,5 billion pounds for military assistance to Ukraine. These funds will be used to purchase even more weapons. As British Prime Minister Keir Starmer noted during an official visit to Ukraine today, January 16, new mobile air defense systems will be delivered to Ukraine. This is the Gravehawk system, which was specially developed for our country within the framework of a project funded by the UK and Denmark.
The innovative Gravehawk system, the size of a shipping container, works with air-to-air missiles for ground-based air defense. Thus, it can use missiles that are already in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In September 2024, two prototypes of the air defense system were already tested in Ukraine, and 15 more will be tested this year.
“Ukraine’s security is our security. We must continue to do everything we can to ensure Ukraine is in the strongest possible position – that is why the UK is going further than ever to increase military and humanitarian support,” said Keir Starmer. “The British people have never wavered in their support for Ukraine, and today British companies are stepping up to support Ukraine’s military capabilities. We will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Ukraine.”
