Specialists from the European Space Agency used data from observations of the Sun over the past three years, collected by the Solar Orbiter spacecraft, and sonified it (converted data into sound), combining the sound with images of our star.
The video shows blue circles (these are solar flares) appearing on the surface of the Sun, and a sound is associated with each of the circles.
The increase in the frequency and size of their occurrence is associated with the approach of solar maximum, the peak of the star's activity.
