Russian investigators claim that the Donetsk man agreed to blow up locomotives at the Melitopol depot "on order."

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don found Maxim Timofeyev, a resident of temporarily occupied Donetsk, "guilty" in the case of the alleged bombing of locomotives at the Melitopol depot. The Russians sentenced the Ukrainian to 20 years in a strict regime colony, with the first three years to be served in prison, as well as a fine of 600 rubles. Russian investigators claim that the Donetsk man agreed to blow up locomotives at the Melitopol depot "on order." He allegedly took improvised explosive devices from hiding places and detonated them at the depot on April 5 and 21, as well as on June 12, 2023, damaging three locomotives and a passenger car. Maksym Timofeyev was detained on August 22, 2023.

The man was convicted of "participation in a terrorist organization; terrorist act; illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, shipment or carrying of explosives or explosive devices."
