A chairlift broke down in the Astún ski resort (on the border of Spain and France). At least 30 people were seriously injured as a result of the incident, SkyNews reported.

Seventeen people were seriously injured, dozens have minor injuries. About 80 people remain trapped at height, rescue operation continues.
Authorities said there were no fatalities at this time and the cause of the incident is under investigation.
24 ambulances and helicopters have been deployed to assist the victims. Hospitals are staffed with additional personnel to treat all victims.
