While performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region, a Ukrainian specialized armored vehicle "Novator" hit an anti-tank mine and saved the lives of the crew. Photos of the vehicle were published on the Facebook page "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles", informs MMR.
It is noted that the vehicle was returning after delivering fighters to positions and came under heavy fire.
"We were driving at a fairly high speed when we hit a "teemka" (anti-tank mine - ed.). The blast wave threw the car about a meter and a half, but we were lucky that we didn't roll over. At the moment of the explosion, the fire extinguishing system instantly worked," says a soldier from the "Lyut" unit of the National Police.
According to him, at the time of the explosion, there was another soldier in the armored vehicle besides him – and they both remained alive and unharmed.
The armored car itself suffered serious damage, but the armored capsule survived, although severely deformed.
Recall that the "Novator" is an armored car manufactured by the Ukrainian Armored Vehicles company. The car is built on a reinforced Ford F-550 chassis. The model is equipped with a 300-horsepower diesel engine and a 6-speed transmission. It can be equipped with a machine gun.
