From January 1, 2025, new requirements came into force in Poland for foreigners wishing to obtain a residence card based on employment.

In particular, one of the main criteria is official income, which must exceed the minimum wage. From now on, the minimum wage in Poland has increased to 47 hryvnias. This is reported by the Polish Information Portal.

Therefore, foreigners who applied for a residence card and received a salary less than this amount in 2024 must submit updated documents to the relevant authorities (Uzhend) to confirm that their income now meets the new minimum.

This applies primarily to those who last year received a salary at the minimum rate - PLN 4300 gross (47,500 hryvnias), and are now required to provide documents confirming income of at least PLN 4666. If the foreigner's salary already exceeds the new minimum, additional documents do not need to be submitted.

According to Polish law, if a foreigner's income is lower than the established minimum wage, this may be grounds for refusal to obtain a residence card.

It is important to note that this is not only about the number of hours worked per month, but also about the specific amount of salary, which must be at or above the minimum wage at the time of consideration of the application for a residence card.
