A real "invasion" of Russians is being recorded in one of the European countries.

The real number of Russians in Serbia is simply impossible to calculate right now, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Serbia said in an interview with Glavkom. Volodymyr Tolkach.

“The Russian Embassy in Belgrade is one of the largest Russian embassies in the world,” he said.

There are more than 300 Russian citizens in Serbia. There are regular daily flights between the two countries.

“Immediately after the closure of the Russian embassies in Croatia and other Balkan countries, diplomats were transferred here. Serbia is still the only country whose planes fly to and from Russia. I know that there are regular daily flights between the cities of these two countries. The number of Russians in Serbia is simply impossible to calculate now. According to my estimates, there are over 300 of them here. Moreover, the Serbian IT sector relies on Russians. In some areas of Belgrade, the Serbian language is not heard,” Tolkach said.

Despite the large number of Russians in Serbia, the diplomat does not experience any negative impact and feels safe.

"The main thing is to adhere to the principles of diplomacy. I assure you, my family and I, the embassy staff, also feel safe. Indeed, you can walk down the street and see a poster "Serbia and Russia - together!". This causes anger. At the bottom under the poster will be the inscription "Gazprom". You can even see the letter Z painted somewhere. Until recently, there was a mural with Putin in Belgrade. Now it has been painted over. I always say: do not approach the issue of Serbia unambiguously. Work and you will get a positive result for your efforts," the diplomat added.
