Russia's so-called volunteer military units continue efforts to increase their personnel numbers by recruiting women.
As Ukrinform reports, this is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
It is noted that Russia's goal is to expand its combat power without conducting a general mobilization.
ISW drew attention to the statement of the former head of Roscosmos and the so-called "senator" from the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, Dmitry Rogozin, who reported on January 19 that the Russian BARS-Sarmat detachment (Russian Combat Army Reserve) is recruiting specialists and unskilled men and women from all over Russia to participate in hostilities in Ukraine.
"This message follows a recent Russian information campaign that highlighted the recruitment of Russian women into various combat units of the Russian armed forces," ISW noted.
