Patients of medical sobriety can be sent to the war in Ukraine as contract workers to rid them of "bad habits." This idea was put forward by the chairman of the Kurgan Regional Duma, a member of United Russia, Dmytro Frolov.
"The fact that a person is in a sober house does not put an end to his activity as a worker. Maybe one of them will want to sign the contract, serve and protect the Motherland," Frolov noted.
The proposal was supported by the head of the social protection department of the region, Olena Sitnikova, noting that 48% of the visitors to sober-living centers in the region are unemployed. Sytnikova proposed to hang leaflets in institutions with information on the procedure for completing military service.
By the end of the year, they plan to recruit 400 contract soldiers to the Russian army.
