In Mexico, a beer truck overturned right in the middle of the road. Dozens of people took advantage of the situation and robbed a truck with 25 tons of beer.
The released footage shows how the crowd, "armed" with cardboard boxes and crates, collects its "booty". Some climb into an overturned trailer through the loose roof to retrieve more cans.
Why the accident happened
The truck driver exceeded the speed limit while transporting beer. According to reports, his haste caused the car to overturn on a curve. When the trailer hit the ground, the entire load spilled on the 86th kilometer of Mexico's Merida-Campeche highway. The accident brought traffic to a standstill.
In a matter of seconds, road users ran out of their cars to collect as many cans as they could get. It is interesting that at that moment the truck driver needed help, which was provided by medics.
Eventually, National Guard officers appeared and forced the people to disperse. No one was arrested.
