Trump seeks to meet with President Putin to "end this war"
US efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation "are already being implemented," the American leader assured.
US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to meet with Vladimir Putin to quickly "end" Russia's war against Ukraine, he said during an online chat following a special address at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday, January 23.
"I would really like to meet with President Putin soon to put an end to this war. And it's not from an economic perspective or anything else. But from the perspective of the fact that millions of lives are being wasted," the new US leader assures.
Trump also stated that the American side's efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement between Ukraine and Russia "are already underway."
"Our efforts to ensure a peaceful settlement between Russia and Ukraine are, fortunately, already being implemented. It is very important to do this," he stressed.
According to him, "millions of soldiers are dying," and "there hasn't been anything like this since World War II."
"It's time to put an end to this," Trump assured.
