On his first day as president, Donald Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization.

The document was published on the White House website, Ukrinform reports.

“The United States intends to withdraw from the WHO,” the second section of the decree states.

At the same time, Trump canceled Biden's letter to the UN Secretary General dated January 20, 2021, which canceled the actions of his administration during his first presidency to begin the procedure for the US withdrawal from the WHO.

"The Secretary of State shall immediately inform the Secretary-General of the United Nations, any other relevant depositary, and the leadership of the WHO of our withdrawal," the order states.
