Toyota will open the doors of its “City of the Future” in the fall of 2025. The city, which the Japanese automaker’s specialists have been building for five years, is located at the foot of Mount Fuji. In the first phase, only one hundred of the brand’s employees will settle in the city.
After construction is complete, the area will be home to about two thousand residents. The architecture of the innovative city is being designed by specialists from the Danish firm Bjarke Ingels Group.

Head Toyota Akio Toyoda said that the builders have now completed the first phase of the houses, which will be occupied in the fall of this year. Initially, one hundred people will move into the new houses, including company employees and their families.
When completed, Woven City will occupy 175 acres at the foot of Mount Fuji. The ultra-modern metropolis is expected to feature driverless cars and smart homes, as well as artificial intelligence (AI) in its infrastructure.
