Analysts of the Car Market Research Institute, based on data from Automoto.ua, have compiled a rating of the most affordable used cars on the Ukrainian market. The analysis included models that were mentioned in ads at least 3000 times.
The results include average prices, age of cars and key features, writes Avtosota.
The top three in the ranking are Soviet models, known for their simplicity and minimal operating costs:
- VAZ 2101 – average age 43,7 years, price $500;
- VAZ 2103 – average age 43,5 years, price $600;
- VAZ 2105 – average age 35,3 years, price $617.
These cars remain in service due to the availability of spare parts and low repair costs. However, such cars are inferior to modern models in safety, comfort and fuel efficiency.
Most of the cheap cars on the secondary market in Ukraine are Soviet models or foreign-made cars from the 80s and 90s. Their average age is over 20 years. Some cars, such as the Chery Amulet and Daewoo Nexia, are relatively young (about 16-18 years old), but cost more – in the range of $1500-$1700.
