In some cases, you can even get behind bars.
Fines for Ukrainian drivers are increasing abroad. The sums will reach 600 thousand hryvnias, he says TSN.

Fines for drunk driving and speeding will increase in Poland from 2025. Ukrainians who are in a neighboring country may be deprived of the right to drive a car in case of violation of traffic rules. The website "Your car" writes about it.
And in some cases, you can get a huge fine and even get behind bars. In particular, for the very absence of a passport, driver's license, insurance or technical license, you can receive a penalty in the amount of 1000 zlotys or about 10 hryvnias.
For not wearing a seat belt, not allowing emergency services or not using low beam headlights, the driver faces a fine from 200 to 2000 zlotys, in hryvnias from 2 to 000.
Fines for speeding vary from 50 to 2 zlotys, and this is from 500 to 500 thousand fines. Fines will be doubled for violators. But drivers caught driving drunk can be fined from 25 to 000 zlotys, in hryvnias from 50 to 5 thousand, as well as sent under arrest for 000 days and deprived of their rights for a period of up to 500 years, for presence of 50-000 ppm of alcohol in the blood.
If the alcohol content is higher, fines already vary from 50 to 000 hryvnias. In addition, the driver may face up to two years in prison and up to 600 years of disqualification. On the other hand, in Ukraine, according to the legislation, driving a vehicle while intoxicated applies not only to drivers, but also to persons who hand over driving to intoxicated people.
Driving a car while intoxicated is punishable by a fine of 17 hryvnias. If the offense is committed repeatedly within a year, drivers are fined in the amount of 34 thousand hryvnias (or administrative arrest for 10 days) with deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for 3 years and with paid removal of the vehicle (if available).
The law also provides for a significant increase in punishment for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxication or under the influence of drugs that reduce attention and reaction speed, in case of repeated violations within one year.
Drivers who:
- were subject to administrative penalties for a similar offense twice during the year
- refused to pass the appropriate examination for the state of intoxication
In addition to a fine, drivers who repeatedly sit behind the wheel "under the degree" are punished:
deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of ten years, and may also confiscate a vehicle belonging to them as a private property.
We will also remind you that the rules regarding speed limits on roads have changed in Ukraine since November 1. The maximum permitted speed is 50 km/h. Oleksiy Biloshitskyi, the first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department, announced this during the telethon. He noted that the Traffic Rules in Ukraine remain unchanged.
The norms of the "winter period" simply come into effect, when the level of danger for all traffic participants increases. In connection with these changes, road signs were replaced with new ones that limit the speed to 80 km/h on those sections of the road where the speed was previously allowed up to 50 km/h.
"In some cities of our country, in particular Kyiv and Dnipro, on those sections of the road where both road conditions and road safety allow, signs of a higher speed limit were installed. That is, 80 km/h in the summer. This period is now ending, and from November 1, the specified signs will be changed to standard ones, i.e. the speed limit is 50 km/h. Thus, the rules do not actually change, but the winter period comes, which does not provide for other speed limits," he said.
