Elon Musk's space company reached a new historic milestone on January 21, 2025, when it landed its 400th reusable first stage of the Falcon family of rockets. The Falcon 9, carrying 27 Starlink satellites, launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on January 21.
Approximately eight minutes later, the first stage, designated B1082, returned to Earth, landing in the Pacific Ocean on the SpaceX platform.
According to the mission description, this was the 10th launch and landing of this particular booster. Eight of those flights were for Starlink missions. Meanwhile, the Falcon 9 second stage continued to deliver 27 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit. They deployed one hour and 1,5 minutes after launch, as planned.
