Due to the warm winter in the mountains of Bukovina, bears have abandoned their winter hibernation. One of them was spotted playing at the feeding ground of the Putyl Forestry Department.
The funny video was published on Facebook by the state-owned enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".
Despite the darkness and snowy weather, the bear visited a location where hunters lay out food for deer and roe deer. There, he found a bale of hay, which he began to roll from place to place, and even tried to climb on top of.
"Bears have enough natural food in the forest, so they will not approach settlements. They wander along their usual routes and do not pose a threat to people. Moreover, at the slightest suspicion of danger, they immediately run away," says Ruslan Rudy, a leading hunting expert at the Podilskyi Forest Office branch.
Last year, during a census of animals in the hunting grounds of Bukovina, employees of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" counted 35 brown bears. This year's census will begin soon, which will allow us to find out how the population of these predators has changed in the forests of the Chernivtsi region.
