Skoda has begun road testing a large crossover. The new model, which is still tentatively named Space, is set to debut in 2026, reports AvtoSvit.

The model is built on the MEB platform, which underlies other electric vehicles from Volkswagen's portfolio, and is larger than the Enyaq. The Space's design is inspired by the Vision 7S concept car from two years ago.

Then the concept demonstrated several stylistic solutions that could be implemented in the serial Space. For example, the show car had an original window sill line, which even got its own name - Tornado Line: it is slightly extended to the front windows. The line looks similar in the camouflaged prototype in spy photos.

But the B-pillars, which were completely absent in the Vision 7S, are still present in the Space, and judging by the location of the retractable handles, the rear doors open as standard, and not against the direction of travel like in the concept.

The spy photos were taken in Sweden. The spies were unable to peek inside, so it's unclear exactly what the production crossover will look like. The 7S concept had three rows of six adult seats and one child seat, with a rear-facing seat behind the driver and passenger.

The new models predict several modifications – a single-wheel drive with one electric motor and an all-wheel drive with two. The concept, as we recall, had an 89 kWh battery, which provided a range of up to 600 kilometers. Probably, the serial Space will receive a similar battery.
