The new Syrian government has imposed a ban on the import of goods from Russia, Iran, and Israel into the country.
This was reported by the Turkish portal Türkiye Today, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that the Syrian Ministry of Finance on Friday, January 17, issued a circular prohibiting the import of Russian, Iranian, and Israeli products into the country through all sea and land border ports.
This move will lead to increased tensions between Syria and the mentioned countries, as well as affect international trade in the region and the rest of neighboring countries, including Turkey, which has close trade relations with Syria, the report said.
Before that, Damascus imposed a ban on entry into the country for citizens of Iran and Israel, in view of which Turkish Airlines, one of the largest air carriers, which plans to resume flights to Damascus from January 23, announced that it would not allow Iranians and Israelis on flights to Syria.
