A luxurious members-only “doomsday” bunker with swimming pools, AI-powered healthcare and glamorous apartments is set to open in 2026, the Daily Mail reports.

American company SAFE has unveiled plans to build a luxury fortress in Virginia, outside Washington in the US, where the $300 million bunker will house 625 of the world's richest people in the event of a global catastrophe.

The underground bunker, called Aerie, will give customers a chance to survive if a disaster strikes above ground, although they will have to shell out $20 million each to stay inside.

Despite the fact that the new hideout is located not far from the White House in Washington, the directors of the new shelter insist that the location of the building is simply “coincidental” and has nothing to do with global tensions and fears of a potential World War III.

The fortress is just one of a number of similar hideaways built for the super-rich over the past few years, with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Mark Zuckerberg and Tom Cruise all admitting to building their own or signing up for a place in one of the fancy security vaults.

Customers willing to fork over the high price will not only have access to the fortress if the world ends, but will also be able to use the containers whenever they feel their safety is threatened.

In addition to memory foam mattresses and marble floors, Aerie will provide guests with an unparalleled array of amenities, including AI-powered healthcare, countless “wellness programs,” and the perfect blend of “protection and luxury.”

The hideaway will also feature luxurious gourmet restaurants, an indoor pool, cold-dip centers, intravenous therapy rooms, a bowling alley and a rock climbing wall.

Behind the new construction is SAFE (Strategically Armored & Fortified Environments), a Virginia-based company specializing in the design of secure properties.

According to SAFE’s director of medical training, Naomi Corby, the “impenetrable residence” will emphasize both privacy and security.

She told Realtor.com that the “multifaceted club” will offer its millionaire members privacy to “conduct business” while behind “impenetrable” walls.

In addition to the bunker in Virginia, the company plans to expand its empire of luxury hideaways to other parts of the United States.
