US President Donald Trump is speaking to Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the language of ultimatums, while directly threatening China. This is the opinion expressed by military-political observer Alexander Kovalenko.
“Donald Trump's goals are clearly visible through his statements... Moreover, his first goal, pressure on China, will be implemented in parallel with the goal of ending the war in Ukraine, through pressure on Russia,” the expert noted.
According to him, Donald Trump's statements regarding Greenland and the Panama Canal are an attempt to squeeze China out of the US sphere of interests:
“But China may be offered a deal that Russia will very much dislike, and which Beijing will not be able to refuse in order to keep its Celestial Empire in a state of safe haven.”
As for oil prices, as Kovalenko emphasized, this is the energy expansion of the United States.
“And Trump will not give up on his goal under any circumstances, so first there will be a collapse in the oil market, and then a conversation with Russia. And even if the Kremlin makes contact, the collapse will still happen,” the observer expressed confidence.
As a reminder, on January 24, Donald Trump called on OPEC to lower oil prices to end the war in Ukraine more quickly. According to him, low world oil prices will help “quickly stop” the war:
“One way to quickly stop this (the war in Ukraine – ) is to stop making so much money and lower oil prices for OPEC. So, OPEC – crash oil prices. Then this war will stop immediately.”
