
At the end of 2024, the German defense giant Rheinmetall delivered the newest KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle to Ukraine.
This was announced by the company's CEO, Armin Papperger, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports.
It is noted that the first Lynx BMP, which was delivered to the Ukrainian customer, was manufactured at the plant in the German community of Unterluss.
"It is now being tested by the armed forces so that a serial order can be placed as soon as possible", said the CEO of Rheinmetall.
Characteristics of the KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle
In 2018, German defense conglomerate Rheinmetall unveiled the Lynx heavy infantry fighting vehicle for the first time. Its weight is about 44 tons, the "Military" portal reports.
- The length of the KF41 BMP is 7,7 m;
- width - 3,6 m;
- height - 3,3 m.
The main armament of the infantry fighting vehicle is a LANCE turret with a 30 or 35 mm automatic cannon. The BMP also has a machine gun and a launcher for anti-tank missiles, which can be equipped according to the customer's requirements.
The BMP is protected against 30-mm projectiles in the frontal projection and from 14,5 mm projectiles – in the side ones.
The BMP is equipped with a Liebherr D9612 engine with a capacity of 1470 hp, and a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The power reserve on the track is 500 km. The infantry fighting vehicle has three crew members and carries up to 8 paratroopers.
