Alpina's latest standalone model unveiled

Alpina has revealed the extreme four-door B8 GT. It is based on the all-wheel drive BMW M850i ​​​​xDrive Gran Coupe with a V8 4.4 biturbo engine. On the Alpina, the engine produces 634 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate to "hundreds" in 3,3 seconds.

What is known about the novelty

Alpina has released its latest model as an independent manufacturer. The four-door B8 GT is based on the BMW M850i ​​​​xDrive Gran Coupe and has a 4.4 “biturbo” engine under the hood, which develops 634 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The same engine on the regular “eight” produces 530 horsepower and 750 Nm, and on the B8 without the GT prefix – 621 horsepower and 800 Nm. This is reported by UAmotors.

Combined with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the Alpine unit allows you to accelerate to the first “hundred” in 3,3 seconds – a tenth of a second slower than the M8 Competition. The maximum speed of the B8 GT is 330 kilometers per hour, like the younger B5 GT.

The sports car is equipped with aerodynamic elements made of carbon fiber and forged Classic wheels with a diameter of 21 inches with Pirelli P Zero tires. The interior is trimmed with genuine leather and wood. A total of 99 copies of the B8 GT will be produced, of which 20 will have a two-tone body (blue/green + black). The price in Germany is 225 thousand euros. For comparison: the BMW M850i ​​​​xDrive costs from 134 euros, the M900 Competition Gran Coupe - from 8 euros.

Until the end of 2025, Alpina will be considered an independent manufacturer, and then the rights to the brand will pass to BMW AG - on the American website of the brand, “Alpinas” are already adjacent to the main modifications. The model range will also change, and Alpina will show the new line very soon. Its design will be responsible for ex-Polestar stylist Maximilian Missoni.
