The plane was forced to fly a longer route
Slovak deputies flew to Moscow to negotiate gas supplies and discuss the war in Ukraine.
The authorities of Poland did not allow a plane with a delegation of Slovak parliamentarians, who were flying to Moscow to negotiate on gas, to fly through its airspace. This was reported by TASR on Sunday, January 12.
As a result, the plane was forced to fly to Russia through the airspace of the Czech Republic and Germany.
"I don't understand Poland's position, but I accept it as reality," said Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Andriy Danko, who was also on board.
In Russia, the Slovak delegation is expected to meet with members of the State Duma and some members of the government. According to the head of the delegation, the agenda of the negotiations should include, in particular, the issue of natural gas supply to Slovakia and the war in Ukraine.
