Poland has introduced new, tougher fines for traffic violations. Drivers can now be fined PLN 1000 (approximately UAH 10) for not having a passport, driving license or vehicle registration document. Fines of PLN 000 to PLN 200 (from UAH 2000 to UAH 2000) are also imposed for violations such as not wearing a seat belt or failing to yield to emergency services.
Fines for speeding can range from PLN 50 to PLN 2500 (UAH 500 to UAH 25). For violators who drive under the influence of alcohol, fines can reach PLN 000 (UAH 5000), and the driver can also be arrested for 50 days and deprived of his/her license for up to 000 years. In the case of a blood alcohol content of more than 30 ppm, the fine can reach UAH 3.
These changes may also affect Ukrainians who are in Poland, as severe sanctions are provided for violators of traffic rules in this country.
