Olaf Scholz is rapidly losing the trust of voters

Olaf Scholz is rapidly losing the trust of voters: only 8% of Germans believe in the SPD's victory in the elections.

This is reported by BILD.

A new poll by the INSA sociological institute for BILD shows worrying data for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his party.

Only 8% of respondents believe that the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) will be able to win the upcoming Bundestag elections on February 23, 2025. This means that the vast majority — 9 out of 10 respondents — do not believe in the possibility of a political breakthrough for the SPD. The party's current approval rating is only 16%.

Despite this, at the party congress, Scholz expressed confidence in success.

"We will win! The SPD will surprise everyone in the final stage of the election race," he declared.

SPD members cite the successful experience of the 2021 elections, when the Social Democrats were able to mobilize their voters at the last moment and take a leading position.

However, public opinion this time is clearly against the SPD. According to the survey results, 57% of respondents are sure that the CDU/CSU bloc will receive the largest number of votes. 17% support the victory of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) and only 3% of respondents believe that the Greens will win. At the same time, 12% of those surveyed were unable to give an answer.
