Hyundai introduced the new generation of its largest crossover model in the Palisade lineup at the end of last year, and in early January of this year, orders began to be accepted.
The car has not yet reached its first buyers, but it has already been given to local Korean bloggers for testing, who have managed to see such cars in person, rather than on computer images. One of the main news in the case of the new Palisade is its half-empty engine compartment, which now houses a much more compact engine than before, writes UaMotors.
Recall that in the previous generation Palisade was equipped with a 3,8-liter V6 and a 2,2-liter turbodiesel, both of which did not make it to the new generation. Instead, the flagship SUV received the latest 2,5-liter turbocharged "four", which is available in both regular and hybrid versions.
Judging by the footage taken by Korean bloggers CarSceneKorea, the new engine looks inorganic under the hood of the Palisade. Most of the engine compartment was practically empty. Hyundai claims that the reduced engine should provide the crossover with a length of more than 5 meters with an improved center of gravity, which means sharper steering. However, given that the Palisade is positioned as a family SUV, the likelihood that someone will take it to the race track is minimal.
In addition to the tiny 4-cylinder engine, located very low in the crossover's voluminous engine compartment, the crossover attracted the attention of bloggers with small displays integrated into the armrests. They display the selected mode of the seat massage functions, heating and ventilation.
