The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has decided not to include in its election program condemnation of the Russian Federation for its aggressive war against Ukraine.
As BR24 writes, during the congress, Bundestag deputy Albrecht Glazer was outraged that the 85-page draft of the pre-election manifesto did not contain criticism of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Such an amendment accuses Russia of violating numerous norms of international law, and also condemns the behavior of Kremlin ruler Putin.
The majority of delegates rejected Glazer's proposal - 69% voted against. As DW reports, the project states that the party sees Ukraine as a "neutral state outside NATO and the EU" in the future.
Other statements of "Alternatives for Germany"
It will be recalled that during the congress the leader of the party Alisa Weidel, who was nominated as a candidate for chancellorship, promised to restore the operation of the Russian gas pipeline "North Stream".
The party also previously stated that Russia has already won the war against Ukraine, and NATO must "accept and respect the interests of all European countries - that is, Russia's."
