
The international technical inspection organizations (TÜV) from Germany and Austria have published their annual report on the quality of used cars, identifying the ten most problematic models by age category. The study of experts is based on data from more than 10,2 million inspections carried out from July 2023 to June 2024.
1. Tesla Model 3 (2-3 years)
Percentage of serious malfunctions: 14,2%.
Problems with ignition, electronics and heating system.
2. Ford Mondeo (2-3 years)
13,2% serious malfunctions.
Defects with brakes and electronics.
3. Skoda Scala (2-3 years)
11,8% serious malfunctions.
Most often, serviceability depends on the quality of service.
4. Tesla Model 3 (4-5 years)
19,7% of breakdowns.
The main problematic unit is the ignition.
5. VW Sharan and BMW 5/6 (4-5 years)
17,7% of malfunctions.
A tendency to be complicated in electronics.
6. Dacia Dokker (6-7 years)
26,5% serious malfunctions.
