A state of emergency was declared in Engels on January 8 after the fire spread and two firefighters died fighting it.
The fire at the oil storage near the airbase of strategic bombers in the Russian city of Engels continues, said the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin. He announced this on Friday, January 10.
According to him, residents feel "discomfort".
"The fuel burnout process is ongoing. According to experts, it will take approximately two more days," the report says.
In particular, on January 9, in the afternoon, due to weather conditions, residents of the city of Engels "could feel discomfort due to smoke."
